Itinerary

Depending on the necessary travel arrangements, we will arrange a meeting place and from there travel in convoy to the lodge. Upon arrival, we allow sufficient time to unpack, settle in and organise your back pack for the following day. My suggestion would be to arrive at the lodge at 3.00pm at the latest. From past experience I have found that people are super excited for what lies ahead and so need time to chat, think, take in their surrounds and pack for the first day’s walking! I will be there to advise or answer any questions that may arise.

Each room has 4-5 beds in it.
The entire lodge is very rustic and basic.
Airy rooms and wide open spaces allow for awesome relaxing time.
Dinner will be served in the dining area at 7:00pm

Today, we will head to the gate which opens at 5:00am.
Tea, coffee, fruit, yogurt and granola will be served in the dining area. Please help yourselves when you are ready.
A 50 min drive will get you to Bhanga Nek.
Jabulani and December will guide you south towards Black Rock. A quick stop at Dog Point will allow for a refreshing early morning swim.
Head along the beach, stopping to snack and swim at your leisure.
We will at Black Rock to meet you with a delicious lunch and ice cold G & T’s.

Once you are ready a quick 30min drive back to Camp and an afternoon of relaxation will be the order of the day!

Your day starts pretty much the same as the day before.

We will head to Black Rock and Jabulani and December will guide you over Black Rock and south towards Lala Nek.

Black Rock allows some of the most exquisite views, both north and south of the coastline. A fantastic photo opportunity!!

Head along and the stunning Rocktail Bay is the perfect spot for a swim and a snack. Remember there is no rush, so enjoy the beautiful beaches here.

We meet at Lala Nek with a delicious lunch and refreshments.

Remember to pack your snorkelling gear. Lala Nek offers some of the most beautiful snorkelling.

On your time we head back to Camp, +/-45min drive.

Zululand Beach Walks is a walking experience along the Zululand Coastline, led by a group of enthusiastic, passionate and experienced guides. Our walking trails and guided tours started in January 2018, following a global increased interest in Health, Fitness, Ocean Awareness and the prohibition of vehicles on the beach – making certain areas inaccessible to the public except on foot. We embrace the idea to “Give stories, not Stuff”.

You will be accompanied by experienced guides for the duration of the walk. Our behind-the-scenes support staff are kept busy transporting luggage to the next overnight stop, arranging permits, food and drinks and basically ensuring that everything runs smoothly for the duration of your walk.

We promise to unlock many of the well-kept secrets along the Zululand Coastline, and will do everything to ensure that your walk is a truly rewarding experience.

About Camp 4

Camp 4 is a privately owned camp. Operating on solar and low voltage battery power. Two donkey boilers service the showers and are serviced by three friendly and helpful staff. This is a very basic camp with shared accommodation, 4 rooms with 4-5 beds in each room, but very comfortable at the same time.
